I used to wish I was the woman who always had gum, mints and a kleenex in her purse.
I used to wish I was the homemaker who’s home was always guest ready.
I used to wish I was the friend who always had an answer for the hard questions.
I used to wish I was the mom who kept her kids organized through chore charts, calendars and planners.
I used to wish I was up, with work out finished, showered and quiet time accomplished before the kids woke up.
I used to wish I was the wife who never had conflict with her husband.
I used to wish I was the superwoman who gardened, canned, baked and planned.
Now I know that, while those things are great, those are not the things that really matter in life. Priority is family. Priority is relationship. Priority is rest. Priority is flexibility. Priority is authenticity. Priority is growth. Priority is peace. Priority is the journey.
