This is Day 20 of “31 Days of Whimsical Encounters” – part of the #write31days challenge. To read all the posts in order, please visit the overview page.

I am walking through a field. Out of nowhere, come a swarm of black birds. Mean, black birds that begin to dive down and peck at me. I start to run, the birds are chasing me. But then a HUGE, white eagle swoops down and covers me, like a full-body umbrella, as I continue to run. I’m not sure where we are headed but I know that it’s a place of safety. The black birds continue to chase me but cannot touch me because of the big, white eagle’s protection. As we run, because I am now protected, the eagle and I begin to laugh. Instead of the fear of being attacked, the atmosphere changes to a less-oppressive feeling of just running from a storm to reach a dry a place.  Finally, we arrive at a castle. Crossing the mote, waiting for the gate to let us in. Once we are in, I am free from the attacks of the black birds.
