I found Jesus sitting on a swing that was hanging from a branch. I looked closer, it wasn’t a tree branch, it was the Cross. He had me sit down on another swing, hanging on the other arm of the Cross. He told me too many people view the Cross only as a place of repentance but it is also the place of freedom. We leave our mess at the foot of the Cross but He also wants to give us something. We should never leave the Cross empty-handed. We began to swing but these were no ordinary swings. Like a ride at the amusement park, as we began to swing, the arms of the Cross began to spin, to twist like a helicopter propeller. As we swung faster and higher, the top lifted off and we spun up into the air. Then we fell back to earth. Then we lifted up again, this time higher. And we fell back again. Each time we lifted, it was higher. I loved the air blowing through my hair, the feeling of weightlessness as we swung into the air. I was experiencing FREEDOM at the Cross.
