The Reality of Fairytale Land

This is Day 17 of “31 Days of Whimsical Encounters” – part of the #write31days challenge. To read all the posts in order, please visit the overview page.

I seemed to be in some sort of whimsical fairytale land. It was a ‘playground slash carnival’ where pastel colors ruled. Life-size dumdum suckers, a merry-go-round, a cotton candy booth, a slide… the atmosphere radiated with a soft, whimsical, delight-filled, airy aura.

I enjoyed a whirl on the merry-go-round, ran towards the slide, having such a good time – having fun. It was then that I realized just outside the realm of the this fairytale land, was thick darkness. With blindfolded people – no, only women –  blindfolded women, grasping around in the darkness. They had no idea that, for some of them, just inches away was a whole different life. Where the blindfold was non-existent, there was no darkness and life was different. Much different. It was free. It was fun. It was bright.

Without words, I felt the Lord tell me that I could go and grab the arm of a woman and pull her into this different reality. I ran out into the darkness, grabbed her arm and pulled her into this whimsical place. She was changed forever. She began to enjoy the merry-go-round, get some cotton candy, have fun. It was time to rescue another woman from the eery, dark world and bring her into this pastel and whimsy light. I ran out again, grabbed another woman by her arm and pulled her into this better and brighter reality. This happened over and over. It was never a violent rescue but always a swift one. Just run out intentionally, towards one woman, and pull her into our fairytale world.
